  Hi,

  Is it possible to use a CTE within a User Defined Function? I have a CTE which works great but I want to be able to pass a variable to it and take the result and pass it back. Is this possible.

  yes you can use a CTE and recursive CTE's in a function;

  a lot of the Tally Table examples you'll find here do exactly that to build a Tally table dynamically, and then use it in the function for Splitting, parsing, etc.
