Hi All,
We're using MSSQL 2000 on W2K. When we change the the autostart to "Allow service to interact with desktop" is opens a command box. I've attached a picture..
If I unclick the "Allow service to interact with desktop" it works just fine.
Has anyone seen this before or know how to fix this?

Oh yeah, one more thing. If we close the box the service doesn't start.

The service shouldn't need to interact with the desktop. Question: are the binaries for SQL Server stored on a drive local to the computer?

We're trying to run an .exe from a SQLAgent job. The exe hangs when we use cmdshell but doesn't with it's through a DTS package. However, for the DTS package to run the service seems to be need to be set to interact with the desktop. Otherwise it completely bombs. Sorry to have to ask this but what are "binaries for SQL Server"?
