Upgrading Sql From 2005 To 2008

  • I have my complete database in sqlserver2005. All Is running well. There are a lot of Stored Procedures,Functions and Views etc etc.

Due to some Business Requirements,my client want to migrate it to 2008.

    Now i have two questions

i - what will be the best option for me to migrate to Sql2008 OR 2010 OR 2012.?

ii - What steps should i follow? Is there any interface/Software/Script or o should do it manually?

    Regards

  • Like all SQL questions the answer is "It depends". I suggest you do a Google search on "sql server upgrade advisor". Download the available software, run it .... and proceed from that point on.

If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.
