upgrade from 2008 sp1 to 2008 r2?

  • (1) The newest version is always going to be the most "Patched/updated". There are a TON of new features in SQL 2008 R2. Just check out this site: What's New

  • Do note that R2 is not a patch or service pack. It's a new version of SQL that you will have to purchase licences for if you want to use.
