Does anybody know how to upgrade from SQL 2005 Developer to 2008 Developer without buying another VS 2008.

You don't need to buy Visual Studio 2008 to get SQL Server 2008 developer, you can buy SQL 2008 developer as a stand alone prodcut for about £30

Thank you for your response. Microsoft.com is out of stock. I had hoped there was an upgrade download available, but I don't see it anywhare on the site.

I never occurred to me that I could get it any place else if MS was out of stock. So you are right, I definitely overlooked something.

And, do not upgrade your existing instance or tools. They will work side-by-side with no problems at all. If you have to support any 2005 instances at all - you can do most of the work from the 2008 tools, however you cannot do anything in SSIS or SSRS without BIDS for that version.

Hi,
I'm looking to purchase SQL 2008 Developer but I can't find it anywhere! The UK MS store doesn't have it and it is iout of stock on retailers like Amazon. Can anyone point me in the right direction of a UK retailer that actually has it in stock?
Thanks,
Jason
