I ordered the sql2012 standard edition but takes around 2-4 weeks until I receive the installation kit.
Can I install the trial edition and update-it to standard edition after I receive the installation cd? (with my cd key)?

Yes, just make sure you dont use any Enterprise features if you are upgrading to Standard.

Yes, Evaluation to Standard is a supported upgrade path.
Upgrade to a Different Edition of SQL Server 2012 (Setup)
