another newbie :o)
I need to figure out how I can update data in one table and insert the same data into another table.
Tried creating stored procedure but is runs when I open my ASP page , I need to be able to run the stored procedure only when I click the "submit" button on my form
The stored procedure works fine when testing directly from SQL.
Any suggestions would help.

You've got the wrong stored procedure wired up to the wrong event in the ASP page. The SP used to load the page should not be the same one that updates the data. Split the get and the put operations into separate procedures.
As far as updating multiple tables - there's no reason one SP couldn't update two separate tables. If you don't want to do that - you could also look into using a trigger to push the data you insert into table 1 into table 2.

Your lack of planning does not constitute an emergency on my part...unless you're my manager...or a director and above...or a really loud-spoken end-user..All right - what was my emergency again?
