unresponsive ide - 2008 r2

    hi all, wonder if someone has come across this before.

    having problems with an unresponsive ssms ide when running scripts. the whole ide freezes up.

    using...

    1. sql 2008 rs, no service packs

    2. new laptop, hp elitebook 8540w(i5 processor), 4gb ram

    ...pretty much standard right out the box!

    any ideas?

    ...apologies; found the problem, its the digital persona service thats screening application activity in hp protect tools!!!
