Uninstall SQL Server After Installation Failure

  • I'm trying to set up a SQL Server 2008 failover cluster and when installing the "New SQL Server Failover Cluster", I get an error stating The following error has occurred: There was an error setting private property 'RequireKerberos' to value '1' for resource 'SQL Network Name (ServerName)'. Error: Value does not fall within the expected range.

I found a posting here that says it appears that this is a bug in the installation and using SlipStream will resolve the problem. However, I now get errors when I try to uninstall the failed installation.

Any ideas on how to remove the initial installation. The error I am now getting is "The SQL Server failover cluster instance name "" could not be found as a cluster resource."

  • Have you tried the steps in the following article?

  • Yes I did but still didn't work. I ended up going into the registry and then deleting from there.
