Uninstall SQL 2005 residing on a cluster

  • Do I need to do anything special when uninstalling SQL 2005 (ENT) which resides on a cluster?

-- from cluster administrator, do I need to do anything?

-- should I stop the services, etc.?

My plan is to remove it via ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS..

    Any input is appreciated.

  • Just use the add/remove programs, it will do everything on it's own.

  • Yep - found this out the hard way. Using Cluster Administrator, I initially took some of the objects offline -- and the Uninstall failed (gracefully).

I brought everything back online and reran the Add/Remove Programs SQL Server 2005 and it worked (to a point) -- now I'm battling the Task Scheduler error. (I've had this one before) http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910851

    thx
