Win 2K, Sp3
Setting Sql 2K, Sql SP 2.
When I go to Enterprise Manager, open a specific server (any database), right click a database and select "Restore Database", the hourglass appears for 2-4 minutes. (During this time period the CPU utilization, by SQL, is 40-50 percent. Finally the "Restore Database" box appears and I can restore databases without any problems. Incidentally, the list shown in the restore box has maybe 10 or 20 entries.
Anyone seem this problem before?

Yes I have seen this problem. It occurs when there are lots of database backups information in the MSDB database. I'm guessing if you where to run sp_delete_backuphistory to remove old outdated entries, then the this problem would go away, although tried it yet. If you do please post your results.
