Unattended Server Shutdown, error '80004005'

  • Heres the error:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80004005'

    [DBNMPNTW]Specified SQL server not found.

    /design/mrsh.inc, line 7

Are server runs fine when we restart it, then a couple days later we will get this error above.

To fix the problem we restart the server, but we want to fix this so we do not have to keep doing this. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

  • Does SQL shutdown or is it not responding to that netlibrary?

I had a problem on a server a year or so ago where once in a blue moon all 'named pipes' connections would stop connecting, until someone logged into sql on the console, then everything worked fine again. In that instance TCP-IP connections still worked fine.

    One to check out.
