Hi.
I imported a report spreadsheet with 67 columns from Excel to SQL 2000.
I now have one table in the database and I want to build a cube on that one table.
When I try build a new cube in the Analysis Manager, I click on the table and select new cube.
In the cube wizard, when I click on that table I get the following error:
"Unable to retrieve the list of columns for the table"
I have no idea what this means as I am new to the whole cube dimension.
Any help would be most welcome and appreciated.
Thank you.
RM

Hi Ryan,
When importing the spreadsheet, did you change the column names at all? If not, you could check for resrved words/characters in the col names. Also, saw something similar when running directly from Excel spreadsheet, where the date field was causing issues, so yours could be a data related issue also.
HTH,
Steve.

Thanks Steve.
I managed to figure it out the other day.
The problem was with the data type of two specific columns. When I was trying to import the spreadsheet, those two columns' data types were being converted to numeric data types, but weren't supposed to.
Thanks again, I appreciate your reply.
Ryan.
