I get a message when trying to edit most (but not all) of the cubes in a mart. I get a message that says "Unable to open the cube <cube name>. An unexpected internal error has occured. Please restart the application." The cubes process just fine and I can browse the data in the cube, just not edit the cube.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

Which SP do you have? Try to apply SP3 to AS.
In what format do you have the repository?

I believe that SP3 has been applied for AS (At least the file for it is on the server. How would I verify that it has actually been installed?)
The repository database has been migrated to the SQL Server that's on the same box. The SQL Server is 2000 SP2.

I also have the same problem in one of my cubes. My repositiory is in SQL Server.
After I encountered the problem I applied SP3 on both SQL Server and Analysis Server.
It didn't help. I Didn't have SP1 and SP2 installed I directly applied SP3. Does this matter?

To check which SP in AS is installed, go to Analisis Manager, right-click on Analysis Servises, then click on About Analysis Services. If the version is 8.0.760 or greater, the SP3 is already installed.
Since the sp's are cummulative, you can apply SP3 to the original version, or a version with SP1 or SP2. Try to apply the SP3 to both SQL and AS.
Also, make sure that the repository is in Analisis Services native format. To check this right-click on the server and select Migrate Repository, at the beginning of the server it tells the current format of the repository.

Thanks. I have SP3 in Analysis Server.
The repository is not in Access. I migrated that sometime back to SQL server. Is that the problem? If that is the case as far as I know one can not migrate it back to Access.

In fact, it's recommended to migrate the repository to SQL.
Have you checked the format of the repository? ie. Metadata Services or Native Format?
