Trying to setup Central Publisher/Remote Distributor Model

    This is my first time setting up replication. I have an OLTP database that i want to replicate over to a reporting database. When I try and set it up it will not allow me to choose any other server for the distributor. On top of that when I even try to setup the publisher and distributor on the same server it gives me this error "Could not configure SERVERX as the distributor for SERVERX.

    Error 2812: Could not find stored procedure 'dbo.sp_MS_replication_installed'.

    Any help you could lend me would be greatly appreciated.

    Yes.. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The main problem is that the server where the database is located that i am trying to publish will not allow me to make it a publisher and/or a distributor. It is a windows 2k server running sql server 2000.
