  The attached picture shows my error message.
  I am just trying to delete an UNUSED excel connection manager from the project. And getting this error 'Item with same key has already been added'.
  Any ideas why?

  That's a sign of corruption within the package ... possibly because there is more than one element in the package with the same GUID.
  I'm not sure how to fix it cleanly.
  You can try recreating the package (start with an empty package and paste the components in from the existing package).
  If you're feeling brave, open up the package in an XML editor and see whether you can fix it there (take a backup copy before you try this).
