I have DB running MS-SQL 2000 Enterprise with SP4, recently due to some H/W faliure the Disk got corrupt, and we had to take help of profesional recovery agent to get the files recovered.
The .MDF and .LDF were recoveredproperly and i could attach the DB without any errors
But now none of the tables are visible in enterprise manager, i've tried running the DBCC CHECKDB, but it gives me the following error
Server: Msg 8966, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
Could not read and latch page(1:126) with latch type SH. sysindexes failed.
any help on the matter will be highly appreciated....

Find your latest backup and restore it.
Based on the error, I would guess that page 126 holds part of one of the system tables. CheckDB canot fix a DB if any part of the system tables are corrupt.
