TERMS OF USE

  • I wanted to have a forum item to discuss TERMS OF USE of sqlservercentral.com

The current version can be found here:

    http://www.sqlservercentral.com/about/terms

  • Please note a small typo in 8 (b)

    materially in accurate

    should be

    materially inaccurate

    8. Blocking access and removing Site content

8.1 We may, in our absolute discretion:

    (a) block you from using the Site where we consider that you have made any contribution to the Site which is misleading, defamatory, obscene, offensive, discriminatory or otherwise unlawful, or where you have otherwise breached these Terms of Use; and/ or

    (b) remove from the Site any posting made by you which we consider to be misleading, defamatory, obscene, offensive, discriminatory, materially in accurate or otherwise unlawful or in breach of these Terms of Use.

  • Thanks Robert - I've fixed that now.

  • Is this another typo?

3.3 Unless you agree otherwise with us, you will retain ownership of any intellectual property rights in contributions you make to the Site. By contributing to the Site, you automatically grant a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide and irrevocable licence, with a right to sub-license, to us to copy, use, adapt, modify, transmit or distribute your contributions as they see fit, provided that such contributions may not be used in any unlawful, defamatory, offensive or discriminatory way.

    should the phrase:

    as they see fit

    be:

    as we see fit

    ?

  • And thanks once again! Yes, and now also corrected.

    Thanks,

    Rob

  • This exchange is why I'd like to have a discussion:

    robert.sterbal 56890 (12/1/2016)

    How is the script licensed?

    The Author:

    Hi Robert

I do not have any problem someone using the script to help their job done easy. In fact that is the point of publishing it no?

If you are asking about republishing, please check with SSC for guidelines.

I don't think the authors really understand the terms of use.

    what are you concerned about?

if I post a possible answer to a question on this site, which is a public forum, then I do not expect to have any further control, right of use, copyright at all.
