Task Manager

  • I have too many Proseses on Window Task Manager. ( 80 items).

It is robing the power of the memory , CPU,?

Is there a way to minimize the amount of proseses at a time.?

without harming work, or regular performance?

  • Windows will always have a lot of processes running. Most of them take very little CPU, so I'm not sure what the problem is. If you run Task Manager and click the Processes tab, you can click the "CPU" column, it will sort by CPU. See what is using more than 0-2% CPU. Might need to focus on something besides SQL there.

My laptop has 62 processes, most using 0% CPU. The main SQL Server here just runs SQL Server and has 48 tasks running.

  • Today it is runing 79 prosesses. Some of them in the 30,000k memory usage.

    Does the memory gets max-out?

CPU usage is 2 to 5 persent, that is ok, I have 1GB memory, is it time to double it?

If you stop the prosesses with large memory demand, then what?Comit charge is 609MB , is that high? What I am woried about is if there is something working in the background that I don't know, hidden.

    Vitally.

  • What processes are using logs of memory?

    30MB isn't necessarily a lot of memory

  • 1. You don't have much CPU usage. You only have 2 to 5%, that's not bad.

    2. If you want to find out what processes are running, go to this site:

    http://www.answersthatwork.com/

Click on the Task List button, then compare the processes you show running to what they say they are for. Some process names can be seen multiple times, but some should only be seen once - a second instance can indicate a virus. AnswersThatWork lists when a process might be a virus.
