Hi all. First post on here in years.
I have a server with two SQL instances on it. The default instance (running SQL 2016) and a named instance (SERVER\MSSQLSERVER2019 - running SQL 2019
I need to make the 2019 instance the default one.
Can I simply change the TCP/IP port for the named instance to 1433 and change the port for the current default instance, then restart them both.
Would that work?
Or do I have to go down the route of uninstalling the default instance then changing the port for the named instance?
