superlog?

  • Hi,

I am running SQL server 2000 Enterprise Ed.

We have a database designed buy a third party which has a data file by the name of 'superlog' attached to it, the type of file according to the properties tab is 'file'.

The problem is this file is expanding rapidly, currently at 680Mg in size, origional size 2 weeks ago was 350Mg.

Any ideas as to what this file is and can I remove it some how.

If I rename it to test the database will not startup.

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks

  • Sounds like some sort of logging file created by the third-party. How about renaming the file and creating an empty file with the same name?

    Hope this helps

  • Thanks for the reply, no go unfortunately.

    Error:823, severity:24, stat:6

I/O erro 38 ( reached end of file)

  • Try putting the last line of the original file into the new file.

    Hope this helps
