I am trying to find out why we are having memory problems on our server. We have 2GB of RAM on the server. I have been monitoring serveral counters on performance monitor and the available bytes is very high so I do not think we are low in RAM.
I have also monitored pages/sec and this does not show as more than an average of 5 so I dont think that is a problem either.
I had a look at the stolen page counter and this is very high, maximum of 40,000. I am not familiar with this counter and do not know if this is a bad thing or not and also how do I find out what memory requests are taking these pages?
Any other tips on how to find out what our memory problem is would also be a great help.
Thanks very much
Meg

If you take a look at the SQL Server:Cache Manager object in Performance Monitor, you'll see Counters for Cache Object Counts and Cache Pages. By watching the values of the various instances, you should be able to tell which ones are grabbing pages from the memory pool.
