STATISTICS IO

    I've set the statistics to ON out of curiosity for a query I've created and I've noticed that tables I haven't used in my query are listed with logical reads and various other statistics.

    Why do these tables exist in the statistics since I haven't used them in the actual query?

    Triggers? Contraints? Impossible for us to tell without the SQL and DDL of the objects involved.
