  Hi all - when trying to set the static IP for my SQL instance I have done this in the TCP Port part of the IP(1) details.

  I have removed the 0 from Dynamic ports yet when restart my instance it still listens on a dynamic port.

  I then changed the port number in the IPALL section and it worked. My question is whats the point in the IP(n) properties if you have to change the port in the IPALL section anyway, or am I missing something? (more than likely tbh)
