Start Debug tries to build project???

  • Wow. Solution is not intuitive at all, but it does exist.

Right click the actual Solution name & go to properties. Pop-up window comes up with Configuration at top and in left hand menu are two things. Common Properties and Configuration Properties. Open up configuration properties and click on "Configuration". In right hand menu all projects (SSRS & SSIS) will show up. There are two boxes Build and Deploy. My Deploy box was checked and so are my Build boxes. Basically, if I'm seeing this right, you just need to uncheck those boxes and close the properties window and then SAVE.

    And everything suddenly becomes happy.

Of course, I only just did this, so haven't seen any "long term" problems that might arise from this solution. If I run into any later on, I'll update this thread.

    Hope this helps!
