We use linked servers, is database chaining a more secure technique than using linked servers?

It serves a different purpose. Linked Servers cross server boundaries whereas this crosses database boundaries on the same server.

An excellent article about a topic I have never need to use. It is why I am keeping the default value to OFF.
But I think I will test shortly ...
