SSMS for 2012 RC0 and 2008R2 on same machine?

  • I want to install 2012 RC0, but only the SSMS. I would also like to keep the 2008 R2 SSMS I have on the machine. Will the 2012 tools upgrade / overlay the existing SSMS or will both SSMS versions continue to exist on the machine?

    Thanks

    Normally they should co-exist.

I had SSMS 2005 and 2008 installed side by side without any issues.

  • First of all, today I would install SSMS fro SQL Server 2012 RTM, not RC0. And yes, they do very well co-exist on my laptop.

  • Thanks for the thoughts. Yes, I realized 2012 RTM was out after I posted my message so I won't be messing around with RC0.

  • Any idea where I can download SSMS fro SQL Server 2012 RTM? Thanks

  • You find it om the SQL Server 2012 media.
