SSMS 2016 - Edit Top 200 Rows Execute button Greyed Out

  • Hello,

In SSMS 2016 (June edition) I notice that when using the Edit Top 200 rows function and viewing the associated SQL, the Execute button is greyed out and doesn't let me edit the SQL used and re-run the query. I can get around this by using Alt + X, but I was just wondering if anyone knew why it was greyed out and if there is any way to change that?

I've had a look through the settings and can't find anything that does this, and I can't find anything online which explains it.

    Thanks.
