Hello
The question of pros and cons for using SSIS vs. BizTalk has come up.
My easy answer was for what we need and what we have already paid for SSIS is more than enough; but this got me wondering is there perhaps a list somewhere?
Does someone on the board have their own experiences they could share?
Thank you for your input.

In my (relatively limited) experience:
If you are integrating applications, use Biztalk
If you are integrating data, use SSIS.
So, if you have to take an excel spreadsheet, and transform it, insert it into a database (or any combination of those options) use SSIS.
If you need to get an XML message from an application/location, process it, enrich it, then send it to a application/location, use Biztalk.

Thank you Wanderer.
I can honestly say that is the best answser I have recieved.
Answers based on experience are always worth more IMHO.
