SQLSERVERAGENT service is not starting

  • SQLSERVERAGENT service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically

    In Sql server 2008

  • Please post the SQL Server Agent Logs. The log files are named SQLAGENT.* where an extension of "out" is for the currently running service and previous files have a numeric digit extension. An example of the log contents are:

  • SQLAgent service stoped automatically.

    Can you post what is SP level is updated on you SQL 2008 box?

    I have also same problem in SQL 2000 with SP3 due to dll files courrpted, Problem resolved after updated SP4.
