SQLServer licensing and replication

    Hi

    Can someone tell me whether Microsoft charge a license on a database receiving data from another database requiring a higher license with that same fee.

    The publishing DB is Enterprise, the subscription DB is standard the data is accessed by the web. In the context of licensing which one is the source DB.

    Thanks for any help on this.

    That setup needs an Enterprise licence for the publisher and a Standard licence for the subscriber.

    Do double-check that with MS or your licence solution provider.
