SQLServer 2000 not running as a service

  • My SQLServer 2000 computer had problem with the C: hard drive. After fixing the hard disk, SQLServer could no longer run.

There is no instance of MSSQL installed in services.

How can I get the MSSQL to be installed as a service?

  • You'll have to reinstall SQL.. Save a copy of everything in your data directory and you might be able to overlay the old databases. But you need to get it to exactly the same version, service pack, and any hot fixes..
