Hello,
Can anyone tell me if I could use SQL 2008 Management Studio (32 bit) to administor a SQL 2008 R2 x64? What would not work due to the above?
Any help will be highly appreciated.

None, it's just a client tool.
I connect with my 32-bit SSMS (still on Windows XP) to 64-bit servers all the time without issues.
Need an answer? No, you need a question

Well, there isn't a 64-bit version of SSMS... It's only the server components that are 64 bit (and drivers), not the client tools.

Should work with no problems. That was the setup I used at a previous employer, desktop system was 32-bit and servers were 64-bit.
