I am installing a copy of SQL 7 on one of our 2000 boxes and it is failing when the service is restarting. I am using a local admin account for both SQL/Agent services.
Stopping Service ...
Starting Service ...
An error occurred while attempting to start the service (1460)
SQL Server configuration failed.
Any ideas?
TIA,
Matt.

Did you assign this account through EM or the Services applet? You need to be sure this accoutn as the "Log on as a service" right.

Steve - I'm new to 2000... I do not see the option for "Log on as a service"... I am looking at the logon properties for the account.
Thanks again -

Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Local Security Policy / Local Policies / User Rights Assignment / Log on as a service
Dbl click and add the account.

found the problem... I forgot to mention I was running the install through Terminal Server.
I ran it on the box and all is well.
Thanks for the help.
