Thanks for any help ahead of time...
I'm having a problem connecting to SQL2008 from only our 2k and xp computers. Am I missing something? All our Vista and 7 systems connect without issue. If I try to connect from an xp system via the datasources area.... I see the server instance but when I try to connect it shows a HTY00 server error 0. Same in Windows 2k. However no problems at all doing this with our vista or 7 systems. Any thoughts?

I don't know about Win2k but I installed SQL Server 2008 the day of RTM last August in XP SP2 so it must be related to your network check with system admin, or see if you can install the developer edition in XP SP2 and up. Now you must know SQL Server 2008 require .NET 3.5 or .NET 3.5 SP1. And .NET 3.5 does not install in Win2k but VS2008 can be used to develop application that can run in Win2k through targeting so client connection should be possible.
Kind regards,
