I needed to restart the mssql server service on my server, so I opened the configuration manager and selected mssql service and selected restart.
It looked like it was going to restart but then it hung in the "stopping" phase.
I looked at services and it shows stopping.
It has been an hour stuck in this phase.
What are my options at this point?
I don't want to corrupt the installation but I am thinking restarting the server might be the next choice.
Anyone have any suggestions about resolving this?
