SQL version not getting updated after applying service packs and cumulative update

    there is an unexpected mismatch in SQL versionafter the update

    • SSMS version \ TSQL : 11.0.5582.0

    • Registry version : 11.0.6020.0

    • Control Panel version / setup version ( expected) : 11.3.6579.0

    Do you have more than one instance entries in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server ?
    Is the SSMS version the output of SELECT @@VERSION? or the displayed version in Object Explorer?

    No
    Is the SSMS version the output of 

    SELECT @@VERSION?

    or the displayed version in Object Explorer? Both are same
