SQL server will not start. I get the following error..Error: 823, Severity: 24, State: 6
I/O error (torn page) detected during read at offset 0000000000000000 in file 'd:\mssql\MSSQL\data\model.mdf'.
I have tried running checkdisk then restarted SQL using Sqlservr -f and still nothing. Trying to restore the model database failed as well, Backup exec failed to connect to the drive.

A torn page usually means an incorrectly linked page in the file. Likely the file itself is corrupt somehow. I'd get Backupexec and MS on the phone ASAP to work through this.

I renamed the model.mdf and modellog.ldf then replaced them by coping from another instance of SQL.![]()
