  Are there any good applications out there that will discover all SQL servers on a network.

  AND

  Are there any good applications for tracking your SQL servers? Currently we use an Excel spreadsheet to keep all information about our SQL servers (2000/2005, Service Packs installed, databases, Standard or Enterprise, etc).

  What are other folks using?

  Idera has a pretty nice admin tool kit for a few hundred bucks that should be right up your alley.

  Depending on exactly what you're looking to do though, all of that can be done quite easily via DMO/SMO/VbScript/SQL.
