Hi Guys,
I know that SQL Server as two types of support. the first one will end in 5 years and there is other support that only ends after several years.
My point here is, When someone says that SQL Server 2008 will end to be supported by Microsoft at X date, there will still be available other support option what is the name of this two different support names?
Thank you

Extended support, which you pay extra for. There's mainstream, extended, and service pack support end dates.

Call Microsoft, that's the only answer I can give you that's guaranteed to be correct.
However, you're pretty much SOL, they're phasing out 2k5 already and you're going to be 3 versions behind shortly. It's time to upgrade.
