SQL Server Replication Alternatives

  • Are there any new alternatives to replication these days ? Ive used it a bit in the past, and always worry about the dependencies it creates as a result. Could you guys help bring me up to speed on what some of the pitfalls / advantages are and maybe some other options ? The BI team wanted to keep development to a minimum and retain the ability to create custom indexes against the replicated objects.
