Please put some tips, tricks, Webcasts and articles on SQL writer (VSS -Volume Shadow Copy Service).
What are the disaster recovery possibilities when using SQL Writer Backup versus SQL Server Native Backup?
What are the differences between SQL Server Native Backup and SQL Writer Backup?
What are the impacts of Database Recovery Model on SQL Writer?
Can we perform Point-in-Time Recovery, Mark Transaction recovery etc, Log Backup? I think No!
As a Production DBA, which technology is best for taking backup of SQL server backup? Is SQL Server Native Backup or SQL Writer? I have lots of questions after working on DPM 2010 and reading technical article on SQL Writer from http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc966520.aspx
As per SQL Writer (VSS) technology it works on Disk’s Block level not transaction level (Write-ahed) then why DPM 2010 takes database backup with log file? What about FileStream?
