SQL server management studio express ver 9.00.2047.00

    Does anyone out there have this exact version of sql express??? i need it as an old application is used and i just cannot access the database through another version and don't understand why.

    This is the error i keep getting

    code=80004005

    msg:unspecified error

    source Microsoft ole db provider for sql server cannot open database for wmgis1 requested by the login the login failed

    please help

    I don't think it's an issue of the SQL Server version.

    A quick google search returned this link (among others).

    Did you try to connect to the database using SQL Server Management Studio (or something similar)? Is the SQL Server instance unavailable in general or just from your code?
