SQL Server express replication

  • Dear All,

Is there any method to setup table replication between you sql server express?

    Any software to do this?

  • SQL Server Express Edition can participate as a Subscriber in replication topology, not as a publisher. If you are taking about both Publisher and subscriber running on Express edition, am afraid you can't setup native replication between these two Instances. Am not sure if this can be achieved using some third party tools out there. Let other experts provide their Input as well...

  • If you need replication, why not just upgrade and get a SQL Server Standard edition license?

  • With express edition you can do Subscription.

I have an environment where we have to create a custom replication along with client side application. With that we have saved more than 2000 licenses. Basically application writes the changes (T-SQL commands to a table) and windows service pick those commands periodically and executes on the server (Subscriber).

    Thank you,
