SQL Server Express 2008 R2 and FIPS 140-2 compliance

    Can sql server 2008 express be set up for fips 140-2 compliance? I found instructions for setting up sqlserver08, but not sure if it includes the express edition.

    Did you find an answer for this? I'm trying to implement SSL encryption with FIPS 140-2 compliance. My environment is Windows 7, Sql Server 2005 Express Svc Pk 3. I've enabled the FIPs complaince in local policy, have a certificate generated etc. I connect from mgmt studio with encrption turned on. It shows me in connection settings that the connection has encryption turned ON. But when I look at the Packet traffic using WireShark, i dont see any SSL protocol packets....So I think my encryption channel is not FIPS 140-2 complaint
