Replace 2 boxes with 1 Bigger Box.
Currently we have SQL Server 2000 SP4 on First box, Win 2003 SP2, 4 GB Mem
and (Great Plains, Crystal, ETL, ASP) on second box, Win 2003 SP2, 4 GB Mem
We clean our DB end of the year and make it a clean one for next year,
It does not grow more than 10 GB in a year.
On the App Server we have like 50 users for GP and 100 users on ASP.
What are issues if we have one bigger box instead of 2 boxes, with Quad Core Intel Xeon 3.3 GHz 2x6 MB cache 16 GB memory and 1 TB Space.
Please share your ideas.
Thanks

General practice is not to mix SQL Server with other applications because it can run into resource contention issues. However that said I have multiple installs where they are mixed (not of my choice mind you :().
Also it is usually considered inappropriate to have SQL Server on a web server (i.e. IIS enabled applications) that server the general public.
Thanks.
