SQL server Analysis Service

  • SQL server analysis services changes to Manual(From Automatic) whenever Windows patching is applied.

    Its clustered server.

Can someone help me with this issue.

    thank you,

    Ruchitha

  • Clustering and SSAS can be a minefield.

That said, you have not told us any really relevant information; SQL Server version/edition, Operating system, type of clustering, which node this is happening on etc. so it's difficult to diagnose your exact problem. I *think* that in SQL versions prior to 2012, SSAS is not cluster aware, so this may be the cause.

Have a read of this: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn736073.aspx

  • Microsoft SQL server 2012 Enterprise Edition

Operating System: Microsoft windows 2012 R2

    Windows cluster.

THE SSAS Service changes to Manual on the Active node.

    Thank you

  • Okay. What does it say in event viewer when you start the server (in regards to SSAS)? Is the SSAS service set to automatic in services.msc?

Did you read the white paper?
