SQL Server 2008 R2 Upgrade Advisor

    Hi,

    I'm trying to use the SQL Server Upgrade Advisor to analyse some trace files I took from a SQL Server 2005 SP3 instance. When I select the .trc file to analyse, an exclamation mark appears in the messages box, but without any error text, and won't let me proceed.

    I have profiled the 2005 server from a 2005 and 2008 box, using the TSQL Replay template, but can't get past this point. Anyone have any tips?

    Are you using database tuning advisor or upgarde Advisor?

    i'm using the Upgrade Advisor. At the point where you select the databases that you want to analyse, there's also an option to analyse trace files output by profiler
