I have a quick question about sql versions. When did SQL standard edition start supporting the operating maximum for ram. Has this always been the case. I'm sure I remember reading that it was 2 GB or 3 GB if the switch was turned on...

SQL 2000 standard supported max 2 GB, regardless of the setting of the /3GB switch or AWE

Hi,
For SQL Server 2005 standard edition there is no limit.

Thanks for the information. I just got confused. We only have Win 2003 sever standard which only allows 4 GB max. That's where my limitation was coming from...

Anyway, to summarise; Windows 2003 R2 Standard Server x32 has a maximum of 4GB of RAM, Windows 2003 R2 Standard Server x64 has a maxium of 32GB of RAM.
