Has anyone got any practical experience with sql server 2005 mobile edition and performance compared to sql ce?
A second question would be if you have any success stories with use in off-the-shelf solutions with regard to the built-in synchronization mechanisms in MSDE / sql server 2000 / 2005.
Any information would be helpful.

Hi,
We have been using intermec 700 series rugged devices with SQL CE and windows 2003 for electronic worksheets. Initially we reviewed our options when implementing a system for handling this.
The final solution we used was to use SQL CE to capture and record the data using VB .NET. Transmission of the data was then undertaking over GPRS and WIFI to a XML Webservice which synchronised with our production database servers.
This route has proved to work very well and is quite reliable.
